WhyTry is a resilience curriculum is used with 8th grade during SEL. The goal is to provide hands-on solutions and teach social and emotional principles in a way for students to understand and remember. The program uses solution-focused brief therapy, social and emotional intelligence, and multi-sensory learning. The curriculum uses ten visual analogies to teach important life skills (e.g., decisions have consquences; dealing with peer pressure; obeying laws and rules; finding support systems to help with their success.) The lessons are presented in a way to fit all learning styles (visual, auditory, and body-kinesthetic).
